Carter Creek was originally part of a Land Grant from King Charles II of England in 1642 to Robert “King” Carter, a 17th-century planter and one of the largest landowners in the Virginia colony. Carters Cove was the center of commerce and transportation.
Carter Creek is located 1 mile above the Rappahannock River Bridge and is to several marinas and one of the most prestigious yachting resorts in the Mid-Atlantic region.
