Uninhabited Powell Cay is a popular stop with cruising visitors. It is within easy reach of Coopers Town, just 2 nm away across the Sea of Abaco. The northern stretch of beach is divided by the first real elevation in land that you will have seen in the Abaco Cays. There is a trail that leads to the top of the bluff providing a panoramic view of the anchorage. Shelling is good on the beautiful southern beaches of Powell Cay and there is a considerable area of shoal, which extends to and includes Bonefish Cay. The extensive reef system on the ocean side is fantastic for snorkeling and fishing.
